Mountain Spring Monastery is a place to quiet the mind, look deeply, and enjoy the wonders of life within and around us through the practices of sitting meditation, walking meditation, mindful eating, deep relaxation meditation, and sharing togetherness. We invite all who wish to cultivate peace and happiness in their lives to plan a visit — for a day or for a retreat.

With advance notice, we are open most days for visits, and you can practice along with the residential community's schedule.
In common with all Plum Village centers worldwide, Mountain Spring Monastery is closed on Mondays.

A DAY OF MINDFULNESS & SPECIAL EVENTS

Enjoy a Day of Peace and Practice – Sundays

Join the monastics of Mountain Spring for a relaxing a rejuvenating Day of  Mindfulness - a day in which we come back home to ourselves, relax, and cultivate the energy of mindfulness together as a community.


Each Sunday is different - typically we begin at 10:30am with a welcome and gather for walking meditation, followed by sitting, dharma talk or activity, a vegetarian mindful lunch, total relaxation, and a discussion or activity in the afternoon concluding at approx 3:30pm.

The 1st Sunday of the month we will recite the Five Mindfulness Trainings, the 3rd Sunday of the Month we will recite the 14 Mindfulness Trainings.

It is helpful for us to have a general sense of how many people are coming so that we can prepare accordingly.

At this moment in time, having begun in a small and humble way to establish ourselves in this place, focusing on practice energy, connecting with the local community, then offering small weekly days of mindfulness, now is the time when we would really need some regular help with ongoing projects to transform Mountain Spring into a practice center.

Therefore, each Wednesday and alternating Saturdays from 10am-3pm we would love for you to come up and support the ongoing projects around the monastery.

It is helpful for us to have a general sense of how many people are coming so that we can prepare accordingly.
