You have arrived,
you are home.

Mountain Spring Monastery was established by Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh
to share the practice of mindful living.

Dear Most Venerables, Venerables, Beloved Sangha,

We know you are there and in this moment we are breathing together as one body.

On January 22nd 2022 our beloved Teacher the Most Venerable Thich Nhat Hanh has passed from this life.

We thank you so much for all of your support.

The Plum Village web site has created a Memorial page which contains a number of ceremonies conducted at Từ Hiếu Temple in Huế, Vietnam; and Plum Village, France, from 22-31st January 2022 - https://plumvillage.org/memorial/

The teachings of our Teacher continue on in each one of us.

With respect and on behalf of Mountain Spring Monastery,

Thich Chan Phap Hai

WE'RE HERE FOR YOU

Monastics.jpg

Mountain Spring Monastery is a place to quiet the mind, look deeply, and enjoy the wonders of life within and around us through the practices of sitting meditation, walking meditation, mindful eating, deep relaxation meditation, and sharing togetherness. We invite all who wish to cultivate peace and happiness in their lives to plan a visit — for a day or for a retreat.

COME HOME

We welcome you to Visit this peaceful oasis.

With advance notice, we are open most days for visits, and you can practice along with the residential community's schedule.
In common with all Plum Village centers worldwide, Mountain Spring Monastery is closed on Mondays.

A DAY OF MINDFULNESS & SPECIAL EVENTS

Enjoy a Day of Peace and Practice – Sundays

Join the monastics of Mountain Spring for a relaxing and rejuvenating Day of  Mindfulness - a day in which we come back home to ourselves, relax, and cultivate the energy of mindfulness together as a community.

Each Sunday is different - typically we begin at 9:00am with a Meditation Class, followed by Walking Meditation, Dharma Talk or Precept Recitation, a vegetarian Mindful Lunch, and an Afternoon Activity (e.g. Total Relaxation & Touching the Earth, Dharma Discussion, Sitting Meditation, Tea Mediation, Chanting Class). The day concluding at approx. 3:30pm.

The 1st Sunday of the month we will recite the Five Mindfulness Trainings, the 3rd Sunday of the Month we will recite the 14 Mindfulness Trainings.

It is helpful for us to have a general sense of how many people are coming so that we can prepare accordingly.
